The usual guitar paints are lacquer paints hard paints made from polyester, polyurethane and nitrocellulose because these continue to cure over time, are durable and enhance the guitar's sound. Bare wood surfaces are ill-suited for paint adhesion. Before epoxy paint will adhere to a wood floor, it must be coated with an acrylic latex primer.
The primer should be applied, using a roller affixed to a rolling pole. The primed wooden floors must dry for at least three hours before they are ready for epoxy paint.
Lightly sand the primer with grit sandpaper and wipe it clean with tack cloth. Pour paint into the paint tray until the bottom portion of the tray is full. Hello Melissa - painting furniture with chalk paint is definitely not out and is very "in" right now. It is considered "vintage" and not shabby chic. Same look but different name. The recipe for any manufacturer to make chalk paint is pretty standard and not a mystery so keep that in mind if and when you decide to choose a chalk paint.
