Where is kamala beach phuket
If you need to rent a board you can easily find some at the beachfront stalls, or at the Phuket Watersports Club at the northern end of the beach inside Intercontinental Resort which also offers surf lessons. NOTE: surfing in Phuket is possible only between May and November when the island is affected by the southwestern monsoon. During the rest of the year, the sea is mostly flat. Your Name required. The southern end of the beach has many beachfront restaurants and bars that serve seafood, Thai and International dishes. If you're on a budget there are hawker stalls that set up throughout the area, with good food at cheap prices. One of the best restaurants that we found was the Rockfish Restaurant , set on the beach with stunning ocean and mountain views.
Throughout the day at the northern end of the beach you will see hawker stalls that sell all kinds of Thai food, like chicken satay, Phad Thai or Thai curries. Along the beach road is one of our favorite places called "Bob's Bar" , the owner is a very friendly man who can tell you lots of information about Phuket or any other destination in Thailand. The bar is located next to Papa Crabs Guesthouse, a great place to listen to reggae music and is open from 2.
Another bar we found that was close to the beach and had a friendly atmosphere is the " Long Ma Do Bar". There are also a few bars and restaurants along Kamala Beach Road, the Paradise Bar that is near the 7-Eleven is good as it had a pool table, which kept the kids happy. For cheap drinks you must visit the Kamala Beer Garden between 4. If you are after more adventurous and fun nightlife in Phuket, I would head to Patong and Bangla Road. Kamala is home to one of Phuket's biggest "Tourist Attractions", the extremely popular Phuket Fantasea, an attraction that shouldn't be missed when holidaying in Phuket.
Fantasea is the ultimate cultural theme park, showcasing the charm and beauty of Thailand, that also enriches ancient Thai traditions. The temple and its grounds have been restored since the Boxing Day tsunami and the locals and resident monks welcome visitors.
A visit to this Wat can be an enlightening and cultural experience. Kamala was the worst area in Phuket hit by the tsunami on December 26, A tsunami monument has been built in the park towards the middle of the beach. Shop like the locals do at the village markets, try some of the local food and experience the Thai way of life.
These markets are like most local markets in Phuket, they sell everything including food, cut flowers, sunglasses, clothes, footwear, bags and belts. As this is where the locals shop, most prices are fixed and you pay what the locals pay. A pair of sunglasses cost baht and a T shirt was baht. The Kamala Friday market is popular and runs all year.
Kamala Beach is a popular destination for families, a tranquil beach on the west coast of Phuket. Kamala is still a beautiful long beach with clear waters during the high season. It features many beach restaurants and shopping options, including some excellent hotels, including direct beach access. The main road coming down from Patong Beach passes through Kamala, and you might keep on driving fast without noticing the small street right at the bottom of the hill.
Besides Fantasea Park , a modest temple, a local market and the beach itself, there are no real attractions to see or visit. Almost at the very end, you can even enjoy a drink on a small bar built on top of rock boulders with amazing Patong Bay views. The beach has always been the main reason travellers prefered Kamala.
The beach is long and wide with soft pale sand with casuarinas and coconut trees. The sea is very shallow and clear during the high season. The northern and central areas are the most attractive as a couple or dirty stream release some brown waters at the south end, where fishing boats are often parked.
Phuket Fantasea Park is a massive stage performance involving acrobats and adult elephants. Sightseeing trips can be organized at the tour desk. They have really good coffee.
Located a 5-minute walk from the beach, Chabana Kamala Hotel features an outdoor pool and free WiFi access in public areas. Set at the beachfront with panoramic sea views, Deng's kamala beach Guesthouse offers spacious accommodations located in Kamala Beach. Large and spacious rooms, very clean with nice views and sounds of the sea from the Sea View rooms Chay, the manager, along with Gleen, Lee, Kanya and the others really Clean room, Great location, Helpful staff.
Right on Kamala Beach, Layalina Hotel offers spacious rooms with sea views, a mini-bar and a bathtub. Traditional Thai massages and an outdoor pool are featured. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Just a 5-minute walk from the white sands of Kamala Beach, this hotel provides individually decorated rooms with LCD TVs and private balconies.
The nightlife of Rim-Hard Road is close by. I liked everything about this hostel! It offers spacious rooms with a balcony and flat-screen cable TV.
Guests also enjoy free Wi-Fi and parking. Location is great, near the beach on the street full of small shops and restaurants. Looking for something even fancier? Rawai Beach and Patong are better options since more is open.
I have never seen so much rubbish on a beach as in Kamala. Filthy beach, not pleasant to be there. Kamala beach still feels like a village with very little nightlife. The streets are cosy and full of green with most of the activities and services concentrated on the beach. It is not monopolised by Russians like other resorts on Phuket.
Grey water runs to the water and you can smell it while you are walking on the beach. Go Mai Khao beach or above for non tourist filled places. Kamala beach is really clean, safe to swim especially for kids. Very peaceful and also have many water activities available.
We would love to come back here anytime. It is also quite a romantic environment. We were there for 7days on our honeymoon and have seen 4 weddings.
Malala beach - Food was tasty, loads of variety of restaurants and very cheap. Weather in January perfect, 30 plus in the day and lovely and warm at night. Beaches were beautiful white sand and turquoise sea and snorkelling around the Phi Phi islands, the corals and fish were amazing!
Thoroughly recommend this holiday destination! Nice little town with quite a few markets. Kamala beach itself is good but you a far better off hiring a scooter and going around to Surin beach which is much nicer in every respect.
Not much nightlife here at Kamala Beach. I went to Phuket with my family on March , and stayed at At Kamila for 4 nights, there are pros and cons of this hotel. Great place!
Absolutely the best in Asia for this price! Large, clean, air-conditioned rooms. Rich breakfasts although always the same. Very large swimming pools and well-equipped gyms.
