I have never seen so much rubbish on a beach as in Kamala. Filthy beach, not pleasant to be there. Kamala beach still feels like a village with very little nightlife. Malala beach - Food was tasty, loads of variety of restaurants and very cheap. Weather in January perfect, 30 plus in the day and lovely and warm at night. Beaches were beautiful white sand and turquoise sea and snorkelling around the Phi Phi islands, the corals and fish were amazing!

Thoroughly recommend this holiday destination! Nice little town with quite a few markets. Kamala beach itself is good but you a far better off hiring a scooter and going around to Surin beach which is much nicer in every respect.
